God continues to do amazing things in Israel, even in the midst of its war with Iran. Just today (June 19), a hospital, located in Beersheba, in southern Israel was hit by an Iranian missile in the early morning hours. It was part of a barrage of some 30 ballistic missiles from Iran. The Soroka Medical Center has over 1,000 beds and provides services to the approximately 1 million residents of Israel’s south, according to the hospital’s website. It is the main hospital in Israel’s south. The main impact of the missile was the fifth floor of the hospital.
When I first heard the news this morning, it brought huge pain to my heart thinking of all of the casualties from this hit. This was a hospital, a place of healing, and it was being attacked.
Later, I heard more details about the attack and saw the hand of God at work in an amazing way. Eli Bin, head of the Magen David Adom ambulance service, said, “Just last night, the Ministry of Health gave instructions to evacuate the old surgical floor of Soroka Hospital. That was the floor that took the direct hit. Many lives were saved.” I couldn’t believe what I just heard. Talk about God’s perfect timing. Also, a spokesperson from the hospital, said the emergency room is currently treating minor injuries. Let me repeat this; they were treating only minor injuries.
Was this event a miracle or God’s providence? It was clearly God’s providence at work. He orchestrated the timing of the patients to be moved from the surgical floor. He orchestrated the place the Iranian missile hit the hospital. His hand of protection was on the people in the hospital with only minor injuries reported. We serve a God who does amazing things and we are witnesses of it.
Regardless of whether it was a miracle or God’s providence, IT WAS AMAZING!
